WHY PRUNE JAPANESE MAPLES IN THE DORMANT SEASON?
- when the branches are bare, you can better see the structure of the tree
- enhance the winter silhouette
Note: While many of the techniques in this class will work when the trees are leafed out, there are different priorities when pruning in different seasons. Additionally, these trees should not be severely pruned when the weather is hot and the trees are in full or afternoon sun.
